Monday
Anyway, it was a spectacular football week even though we had some tough beats on our 30 star plays but our 25 star plays were dead on. Our 25 Star plays were a ridiculous 8-1 overall with the only loss coming on a last second UCLA touchdown. This week we were up 145 stars overall. Let's end it on a high note.

College Football Play of the Month
TCU -1-
The Horned Frogs are the only team who can stop BYU's Max Hall. This defense is nasty. They are the number one defense in the country in yards allowed. They have only allowed a mind boggling 19 rushing yards per game. TCU will control the tempo at home and come out with the win. Our Plays of the Month have been the money makers. We nailed the Cardinals earlier in the NFL, we cruised to a Ball State Play of the Month win, and we nailed our MLB Giants-Rockies UNDER. Follow the trend as we expect another huge win. Pounce on this play. You will be rewarded nicely and you can thank me tomorrow.

Saturdays Plays.
The second half went smooth like we planned and was a nice redemption. Tough that the whole game didnt cover, lot of missed opportunities. We do not have anything for Friday but here are your plays for Saturday. Looking forward to another huge weekend. Time to make some money. Go to your bank before it closes today or right when it opens up tomorrow and make a huge withdrawal. When you deposit it back on Monday you will have some serious winnings. We even gave you guys a nice write-up to break the games down for you. Enjoy and keep the feedback coming at vegasedge1@yahoo.com
30 Stars
Ohio State -18- With Pryor behind center, this offense will explode home against Purdue.
Oregon State -30- Washington State is a JOKE. Cal beat them by 63!, Oregon by 49!, and those were home games. On the road is going to be a BLOWOUT.
Florida -6- Tebow and company will get the job done against LSU. The Tigers are slightly overrated and don't be suprised if Florida wins this one by at least two scores.
25 Stars
Eastern Michigan (Pick)- Two bad teams in Army and Eastern Michigan but is Army is much worse. They have already lost to a 1AA school at home.
South Carolina -3- Spurrier gets a big win on the road against a Kentucky team that is nowhere near as good without Andre Woodson.
North Carolina -8.5- UNC is a sleeper, this will be your last chance to catch them before their stock gets higher.
Auburn -17- Arkansas is lucky that their September 13th matchup at Texas was postponed. Otherwise they would have been blown out four games in a row now. They are the bottom of the barrell in the SEC. They have not even been within 5 touchdowns since week 2. They do have two wins though, by 1 point to Louisiana-Monroe (who?) and 4 to Western Illinois (who?).
USC -28- The Trojans need to continue blowing teams out like they did against Oregan in order to get back into the Championship talk, they will Saturday.
Tulsa-SMU OVER 77.5 (And you thought yesterday's was high. Both punter's can party hard tonight, they won't be used tomorrow. Expect something to the tune of a 55-35 game. This one flies over.

UAB at Houston- OVER 67- Does the over under seem ridiculous? Don't be afraid, it's that high for a reason. This game will be a shootout. Both teams have firepower. Houston put up 37 against undefeated and 17th ranked Oklahoma State. They also put up 41 against Eastern Carolina (who shut down Vtech and West Virginia) UAB and Houston's defenses are ranked almost last in the country both giving up more than 400 yards of offense a game. Get ready for a shootout

Brewers -129- Phillies two biggest hitters lefties Howard and Utley will be kept in check by C.C.
Cubs -154 Carlos Zambrano gets it done in this must win game.

Indians -108- Cliff Lee is the 2008 Cy Young winner. Love the value here.
Giants-Rockies Under 7- Playing in San Fran (great pitchers park) with two studs on the mound. We like the under.

Chargers -8 -This is a must win game for the Chargers on primetime television at home. They will get it done on both sides of the ball tonight and will dominate. Brett Favre does not have the weapons around him to pull one out on the road as the Jets will struggle on the road in this hostile environment. Go big on the Chargers tonight

Kansas St is horrible on the road. They have only won two road games the last two years. States D won't stop Louisville from running the ball. Freeman has lost his top receivers, namely Jordy Nelson. Go big on the Louisville Cardinals with the points.

USF -3.5 Go BIG on the Bulls tonight. Playing on the road is no easy task, just ask West Virginia last year. Matt Grothe is a dynamic quarterback that will come up big tonight. They are returning four of their starting offensive lineman and have many weapons to go to. Defensive end George Selvie might be the best player you have never heard of. As a sophomore, Selvie put up ridiculous numbers of 14.5 sacks and 31.5 tackles for loss. He will be a force tonight. Go big on the home team tonight as this game falls perfectly into our system.

25 Star- Ball State-6.5 NCAA BET OF THE MONTH (WORTH THREE 25 STAR PLAYS)
I can not stress to you enough how much of an effect the loss of Navy quarterback Kaheaku-Enhada will have on this option attack offense. He runs it perfectly and he is listed as doubtful. Ball St should have no problems putting up points against a weak Navy defense and be able to contain the option attack. Go big on Ball State and remember this is worth either 3 wins or 3 losses.
Thursday
25 Star
Redskins +4.5- The Giants have a completely different defensive look that won them the Super Bowl. Their losses of their big time players (Strahan, Osi) will hurt them tonight and this is a good spot to jump on the underdog. We think the Redskins take this straight up but will gladly take the points and make it a 25 star play.

Seattle Mariners -120- Such a difference in the pitching matchup here that -120 is an incredible price. Felix Hernandez has one of the best ERA's in the league at 3.27 (and is great on the road at 3.18) Texas is throwing Dustin Nippert who's stats go like this (49 innings, 69 hits, 8 HRS, 1-4, with a 7.53 ERA.) Blue Jays- -117- Unreal that you can get this price with of the hottest pitchers lately (Burnett) in baseball facing a man (Pavano) who has only pitched in three games since 2005. (Note: I was misinformed last night by reliable Yahoo Sports saying that Halladay was the starter, even though it is Burnett this is still a 25 star bet)
20 Stars
Dodgers- -114- Great price too as the Dodgers lineup is designed to hammer lefties.

Thursday Plays (College Football is here!)
College Football
25 Stars-
Oregon State at Stanford-UNDER 45.5 - Both of these defenses are LOADED with major question marks at offense.
Stanford Defense- Stanford has nine returning starters at defense. They are extremely talented at linebacker led by Clinton Snyder coming off a tackles, eight sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss season.
Stanfords offense has some retooling to do. Quarterback T.C. Ostrander and wide receivers Evan Moore and Mark Bradford have graduated and that leaves some big questions in the passing game.
Oregon State Defense- The Beavers rush defense was the best in the nation last year. The pass defense will be much improved with Keenan Lewis, Brandon Hughes and Al Afalava returning starters and all seniors.
Oregon State Offense- The passing game last season was pitiful and will not improve this year. Sean Canfield and Lyle Moevao both had opportunities to boost the offensive production, but Canfield threw just nine touchdowns and had 15 interceptions. Moevao had a worse ratio, tallying two touchdowns and six picks. All everything back Yvenson Bernard will surely be missed.

Royals-109- Opponents have hit Rangers pitcher hard on the road this year 9.00 ERA while batting .364 while Bannister (although having a down year compared to his break out year last year) has been effective at home with a 3.79 ERA
Yankees-Sox Over 10.5- Two great lineups, two weak pitchers will equal runs
Cardinals -130 Cardinals need a big win here and will get it done with Wainright (3.04 ERA on the hill at home)
Tuesday, August 26, 2008
Tuesday
20 Star-
Cubs-Pirates Under 8.5- Ian Snell has been red hot lately coming off a 7 inning 0 runs performance at St Louis. Carlos Zambrano is the cubs go to guy. Expect a low scoring game.
Rays-Blue Jays Under 7- Halladay vs Shields will lead to a low score. The Rays best hitters are on the DL and the Blue Jays have been last in most hitting categories.
Indians at Tigers Over 8.5- Tigers are the worst pitching team in baseball. Today they bring up a AAA pitcher. Cliff Lee, despite pitching a brilliant year, got hit hard against the Tigers last game (5 innings 6 earned runs {worst outing of the season}) and has a 5.46 career ERA vs them. Expect some runs.

MLB BET OF THE MONTH
Colorado vs San Fran Under 7- Two young studs on the mound today facing offenses that have been weak this year and playing in San Fran which is one of the best pitcher's parks. We love the under and it is our MLB bet of the month. We gurantee a low scoring game today. We are so confident this goes under that this is worth 3 25 star plays. (Three wins or three loses) Bet big!
20 Stars
Kansas City -130- Gil Meche is clearly the superior pitcher in this matchup as Feldman's last road start he gave up 12 runs in 2.2 innings.
San Diego +101- Great value with peavy at home. Don't see him as an underdog in this position too often.
Sunday, August 24, 2008
Sunday
Red Sox-Blue Jays- UNDER 8- Dice K vs Burnett will lead to few runs being scored here. JD Drew is out again which will hurt the sox producing runs. Also take note that Burnett has been dominant against the Blue Jays with a 4-0 1.98 career ERA against themm.

Another big day yesterday with two wins. 20 Star Nationals-Cubs Over 10.5- Just like yesterday the wind is blowing out to right, center at 9 MPH. You have to play the wind once again. Expect Odalis Perez to be hit hard by this Cubs lineup with the Nationals getting there share of runs too. 15 Star Pirates- Brewers Under 9- Pittsburg's two best hitteres McClouth and Doumit are both doubtful to play. Meanwhile the Brew Crew have struggled hitting lefties this year and under 9 is a solid bet. Rangers -130- Rangers avoid the sweep here with their best pitcher going. Hank Blalock will give them a boost as he returns. |
Friday, August 22, 2008
Friday
Cubs-Nationals OVER 11.5 runs- It is a lot of runs but you have to play the wind in Wrigley Field. When it's out to left at 15 mph like it will be this afternoon than the over is the play.
15 Stars
Mets-Astros Under 7.5 runs- Oswalt (who has pitched better lately) vs Santana will lead to few runs being scored.
Thursday, August 21, 2008
Thursday
Dodgers -200 - In the heat of the NL West race the Dodgers have some solid value here as they will not get swept at home to the Rockies. They have Derek Lowe going today and are facing an inconsistent lefthander in De La Rosa. The Dodgers lineup is loaded to face lefties. Since it is -200 than a loss will count as 2 and a win as 1 for this 25 star play.
20 Star Play
Padres-Dbacks UNDER 8- Two of the worst offenses in the NL have been putting up good numbers this series with both games going over. Tonight will be different as Brandon Webb at home should dominate the Padres lineup. Came close to making it a 25 star play as it is a very solid play.
Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Tuesday
25 Star Play
Seattle Mariners -107- Talk about great value. You are getting the most promising young pitcher in the league (Felix Hernandez) who is 4th in the league in ERA (3.04) at -107. The opposing pitcher is a rookie (Clayton Richard) with a 9.74 ERA with opposing hitters batting .379 against him. Yes the White Sox have the better offense but their such a difference in the pitching matchup that the Mariners get it done.
Monday, August 18, 2008
Monday
20 Stars
LA Angels vs Tampa Bay Rays OVER 9- The Angels throw their worst pitcher in their rotation while the Rays young Sonnanstine will have to face the best lineup in baseball. Runs will be scored here and the over is the play.
San Fran Giants +190 at Atlanta Braves- Way too much value in this game to pass up. Both teams have thrown in the towel and Braves starter Jorge Campillo has given up 10 earned runs in his last 2 starts. When you are getting double the value on a game like this you must take advantage.
Friday, August 15, 2008
Friday
20 Star
Cardinals at Reds Over 9.5- Two pitchers who have struggled (Arroyo 5.44 ERA- Thompson 4.34) having to pitch in one of the best hitting parks in all of baseball. Look for some runs to be scores in this one.
Toronto +105- Shocked the Blue Jays are underdogs here with a Cy Young pitcher in Halladay on the hill vs a journey man veteran with a 4.53. Gotta love the value in the pitching matchup.
Thursday, August 14, 2008
Thursday August 14th
BREWERS-PADRES- UNDER 6.5 - The 25 Star plays are our bread and butter. Load up on this one. Two of the best pitchers in the game (Peavy and Sheets) in a ballpark that is designed for pitching. Add in the fact that San Diego has the worst offense in all of the major leagues and the Brewers are without their best hitter in Ryan Braun. Expect a very low scoring game.
Wednesday, August 13, 2008
Wednesday
Oakland A's -135- Too good of a price for this seasons best pitcher (Duchscherer) at home against a Rays team that just had to send two of its top hitters (Longoria and Crawford) to the DL.
15 Star
Seattle +135- Another great value bet getting Felix Hernandez at a great price. Solid pick.

We had taken a lot of time off and are ready to get back into it. Good luck on baseball today and football season is right around the corner.
20 Stars
Twins -115 -Great price to go against a fading Yankee team with Ponson on the road.
Red Sox -128- Look for the Sox to come alive against this young lefty and Beckett to help keep them in the thick of things.
Giants-Astros OVER 9.5- It may be suprising to see the Giants ever have a total set this high but it is for good reason. Two pitchers (Backe, Sanchez) with high ERA's (5.35 and 4.64) having to pitch in one of the best hitter's parks in Minute Maid.

What a game
"The NBA play of the month is the Lakers finishing off the Spurs at -7.5. This game will be a blowout at the Lakers home court. Lakers are the superior team and will win by double digits. The Lakers are unbeaten at home in the playoffs, going 7-0, and they've won 13 in a row at Staples Center going back to the regular season, including 3-0 SU and Against the Spread against the Spurs. Go huge on the Lakers to make it four straight. -Vegas Edge"
I will admit that we got very lucky with Sasha's three pointer, he was however the reason the Spurs almost pulled an amazing backdoor cover as he gave away a careless turnover leading to a Parker layup with 23 seconds. Spurs first quarter nearly killed the play but we had confidence that Lakers would take the lead back and extend their lead. Anyway great win for all the people that paid for a pick and we will keep it up.
Ps- Do not be suprised if Sasha Vujacic gets stabbed or shot on his way out of the arena.

The 25 Star Special are the Washington Wizards at -5 over the Cleveland Cavs. Despite heavy action on the Cavs, the lines makers have not moved the line. They are a force at home at 25-16 (should be much higher as they were without Butler, Arenas, and Jamison for a bunch of those losses) Those three will light it up tonight at home. Cleveland does not have the firepower beside Lebron to be able to match the points the Wizards will put up. Do not be surprised to see an absolute blowout. The last time these two teams played in Washington when the Wizards were healthy they won 105-86 and that was without Arenas. Bet the house on the Wizards. BONUS: Raptors -4 is a great play as well. Not as dominant as the Wizards but a great bet to throw some money on.

Wednesday
Pistons -10- After an embarressing defeat in the first game, Pistons come through big tonight at home.
Pirates -103- The Pirates offense is not as bad as everyone thinks. Also, Ian Snell is a better pitcher than Wellemeyer.
Rockies -106- Lefties (Rich Hill) who depend on their curveballs do not throw the same up in Coors Field. The Rockies lineup is full of right handed hitters who usually pound left handers.

Daily Best Bets
25 Stars
Lakers -17.5- This line is insane. Yet the Lakers will cover it. Ron Artest and Kevin Martin are both questionable and this is a must win for the Lakers in terms of playoff seeding. Sacramento has caved in and is more concerned with their lottery pick than the playoffs. Playing the Lakers on the road is a tough task for this team.
20 Stars
Trailblazers -11- With Milicic and Miller both questionable Memphis will struggle on the road. Their defense is terrible and Portland will exploit that all night.
15 Stars-
Timberwolves +7- The Twolves have covered in three straight road games including wins against Orlando and Memphis. Detroit is resting their starters with Billups not even seeing the floor. As bad as you may think the Twolves are they should cover here on the road playing against a bunch of 2nd and 3rd units.
